We are so thankful for our sweet newborn pictures! We were unsure about whether or not we were going to get newborn photos and I’m so glad we did. We loved all of the pictures, especially the detail shots. Before the session, I would recommend looking at Mikayla’s other photos to see which poses, props, and/or headbands you may like. It will be helpful when you’re sleep deprived and trying to decide which ones you would prefer during the session :)
We really enjoyed working with Mikayla! She responded quickly to emails and gave plenty of information to prepare for the session. Mikayla was incredibly patient as our daughter needed to eat during the session and took a while to get nice and sleepy for the pictures. After the session, Mikayla was quick to send the proofs and ultimately, the final edits. We would highly recommend Mikayla to friends!

I am beyond impressed with the work that Mikayla did for our newborn photos. She was very prompt at staying in touch when we got close to my due date and was very flexible when SURPRISE! our little boy came a week early. She was so warm and welcoming when we showed up for our shoot and immediately made us and our little one comfortable and at ease. She was very flexible and patient during the shoot when we need to nurse or change a diaper in between shots. 

I was impressed with her knowledge of all the techniques for swaddling and wrapping our little one up for just the right shot and so that she could easily switch from pose to pose without waking him up. I have to agree with the other reviewers: she is the baby whisperer!

When we received our photos I was blown away! They are amazing! She made my baby look just as perfect and peaceful as I was hoping for, and there are some photos with some extra elements that she added (like feathers and greenery) that she added in the editing process that look like they were there in the photoshoot. They look so amazing! I am so so glad that Mikayla moved up to the Portland area because I will definitely be a return customer. Maybe for our baby boys 1st birthday photos, since she does those as well.

If you are looking for the best newborn photographer look no further. Mikayla is amazing. She is very professional and has a wonderful eye for lighting and capturing precious moments. We booked her for our maternity shoot and our newborn session. For our maternity shoot she researched a great spot that had everything we wanted for our background. She even incorporated our furbaby and our props. She made us feel so comfortable and at ease. And the pictures turned out so beautiful I could cry!!!! (I’m not a crier, lol). 

 

Our newborn shoot was perfect. It is a lot of work carefully getting the baby into all the cute positions. She was totally the baby whisperer! She got my little Layla into the most adorable poses. I always wondered how some of the poses were accomplished (photo magic). I learned so much watching the session. She is patient and loving. 

 

When I was researching photographers I asked Mikayla about all the training time as she would be handling my brand new baby. She has extensive experience and training time. I was thrilled with every experience we had with her. My only complaint is she moved to Oregon! Ugh next baby session I will definitely be flying her back to Arizona!!!!!

Mikayla took my son’s photos before she moved to OR. He was our third child and we had never had professional newborn pics taken of the kids! Needless to say she did an amazing job. I left the pics up on the laptop and my hubby later told me, “the pics of the baby are amazing! She did a fantastic job. Wish she could have taken pics of the other kids.” I highly recommend investing in Mikayla capturing your baby’s precious moments. They are memories you can’t replace. The whole experience was peaceful and relaxing.

It was such a wonderful experience to work with Mikayla to capture the precious newborn pictures that we will cherish forever. She has to be the most patient person I've ever met and she was so good Mary Grace. She was so nurturing during the session - our baby felt totally comfortable with her.  She has a great eye for scene setup and positioning the baby. She has a great studio setup with adorable props and she is so sweet - she makes you feel so welcome. We received the pictures quickly and they were beyond our expectations. She is truly talented! I highly recommend her.
